Kevin Jay Cox passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at his Tulsa residence. He was born May 19, 1956 in Springfield, Missouri to Robert and Erma (Ledbetter) Cox. Kevin led a successful sales career in the gas and oil industry. He was employed as the sales manager for Primary Flow Signal at the time of his passing. Kevin graduated from Union High School in 1974. Kevin coached football at Wilson Middle School for many years. He also coached various sporting teams for his children. Kevin was a diehard TU fan. He loved golfing, fishing, playing the guitar, chocolate, and he was always known to be living life to the fullest. He loved the Grateful Dead and taking trips to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Kevin was a terrific father, grandfather, and friend. He was also known to be quite adventurous. He hitchhiked all over the country in his younger years and traveled around world throughout his successful career. He was often found at Pickle's Pub with a large host of friends. Kevin had a friendly and addictive smile. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends whom cared for him dearly. Kevin was preceded in death by his son Christopher John Cox; and his parents. He is survived by his son: Benjamin Cox and his wife Amy; and his daughter Melissa Cox, and their mother Christina; his grandchildren: Kelsey, Christopher, Emma, Kaelyn, Benjamin, and Mason; and his brothers: Dennis Cox and his wife Era Jo, and Bob Cox and his wife Terri. Arrangements have been entrusted to Christopher W. Teel of Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service at Memorial Park, 5757 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa. Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 PM Tuesday and a funeral ceremony 11 AM Wednesday both at Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service. Robert Cartwright Don Allen, Mike Trueblood, Don Westervelt, Phil Blough, Hugh Hipp, and Christopher Cox will be serving as pallbearers. Share memories of Kevin at www.tulsafuneral.com.
