Eugene Yates, Jr., age 74, of Kuttawa, KY died Saturday, April 4, in a motor vehicle accident on Hwy. 62 in Marshall County. He was a retired chemical operator at Westlake in Calvert City and a member and deacon at Macedonia Baptist Church in Lyon County. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Brenda Moody Yates, Kuttawa, KY; one son, Barry Eugene Yates, Morganfield, KY; one daughter, Lisa Dawn Lawrence & husband, Dennis, Paducah, KY; three grandchildren, Corey Eugene Yates & wife, Brittney, Megan Anne Yates and Kidron Lawrence; two great grandchildren, Micah Wilson and Riley Yates; three brothers, Tom Yates & wife, Ann, Hopkinsville, KY; Robert Yates & wife, Sally, Livingston, TN and Jim Yates & wife, Teresa, Russell, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Yates, Sr. and Lillie Mae Thomas Yates and one daughter, Belinda Jill Yates. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville, KY. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 8, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Holsapple officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Lyon County.
