Mr. Charles Leland Lamb, 71, was born October 3, 1937 in Kuttawa, KY, the son of Leeper and Isabelle Lamb, who preceded him in death. Chuck, as he was known passed away peacefully at his home in Nashville Thursday, January 22, 2009.Chuck was one of eleven children, all of whom survive him., 3 brothers, Bob Lamb of Nashville and Jerry Lamb and Mike Lamb, both of Mt. Juliet, TN; 7 sisters, Dorothy Bingham of Kuttawa, KY, Virginia Richman and Barbara Stephenson, both of Bowling Green, KY, Evelyn Powers of Mt. Vernon, IL, Marolyn Gibson of Louisville, KY, Linda Jo Lamb of Nashville, TN; and Sharon Pratt of Brentwood TN., also several nieces and nephews survive.Mr. Lamb was a well known and respected businessman in the carpet industry, especially in Nashville and Georgia. In the early 1960's he established Lamb's Carpet Service and The Carpet Barn in Nashville. Chuck was an early member of the Middle Tennessee Flooring Association. Having been in the Marine Corps Reserves, he opened up The Carpet Barn for the local chapter meeting and socials for the Reserve League.Chuck was a generous person who never failed to help someone in need. He had a "bigger than life" personality with a strong sense of humor and dedication to any task. His favorite personality in the world was Noah, his dog, a quirky funny wire hairedterrier.Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 26, at New Bethel Cemetery in Lyon County with Dr. Jerrell White officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville. A memorial gathering in Nashville will be announced at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Humane Society, 213 Oceula Ave.,Nashville, TN 37209.
